"El Mar is a song about trying to make a specific person, friends, family or even strangers, love and accept you. It´s about people pleasing and how when I am at the seaside or diving in the ocean I feel free. I finally feel accepted and in peace with the fact that not everyone will like or fall in love with me. La conexión entre el mar y la sanación emocional ... El mar ofrece un refugio natural donde la mente y el corazón pueden encontrar alivio. Alzad en alto vuestros ojos y mirad quién creó estas cosas; el que saca por número su ejército celestial, y a todas llama por nombre; a causa de la grandeza de su poder y por la fuerza de su poder, ninguna faltará... Dios muestra su poder en cada detalle del universo.
Amen."

“Boring heartbreak lyrics. The song speaks for itself. It’s about feeling betrayed by your first love and ending things while accepting that everything you lived will just remain a memory. It’s a very honest song, but writing and recording it featuring the Producer and Guitarist Drippeados from Mexico was very healing. It’s a sad song, but it reminds you that it’s okay to feel sad and confused sometimes when things don’t work out in a relationship.”

Lea Kunez is a 20-year-old multilingual singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work bridges Latin musical heritage with contemporary pop and electronic production. Born into a Peruvian-Austrian family and raised in Munich (Germany), her artistic identity is deeply shaped by cultural hybridity, movement, and early musical discipline.

She performs in Spanish (her first language), English, and German, with additional proficiency in French and Portuguese. From a young age, music played a central role in her life. Lea completed a formal music specialization in piano at the age of 17, dedicating over twelve years of classical and 3 years of jazz piano training. At the age of 12, she began singing in a church choir and went on to receive formal vocal training in both classical and pop styles between the ages of 13 and 17.Alongside her formal education, Lea is a multi-instrumentalist. She taught herself acoustic and electric guitar at the age of 13 and began playing the ukulele at 15, which has since become her preferred instrument for exploring samba-inspired rhythms. Her musical development has always been closely tied to physical expression and dancing.
Before focusing fully on music, Lea trained as a competitive gymnast and ballet dancer, experiences that continue to shape her sense of timing, body awareness, and stage presence. She remains strongly connected to social and Afro-Latin dance cultures, particularly salsa, chicha, reggaeton, merengue, cumbia, and samba, which directly influence her musical phrasing and performance style. At the age of 14, Lea independently taught herself music production using Cubase. By 17, she had written, produced, and released her debut single “El Mar” entirely on her own, including independently directing and filming her first music video without external assistance. Since then, she has been working continuously for over four years on her debut EP, which is currently being finalized for release in collaboration with a record label. In parallel to her artistic career, Lea studies Sociology with a minor in Statistics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). This academic background informs her songwriting and production with analytical depth, narrative awareness, and a strong sense of structure. Her work represents a fully self-made artistic path. Combining technical precision, cultural authenticity, and creative independence at a remarkably early stage of her career.
